States that it was formerly the property of F.W.H. Roberts, esquire. Annotation states '730 Betteridge'; photocopy of extract from publication by John Beckwith entitled 'Ivory Carvings in Early Medieval England' (Harvey, Middler & Medcalf, 1972). Contains image and description of present object.
