Annotation on information card states that this object was probably, 'that photographed as "walrus ivory plaque with the Crucifixion and symbols of the Four Evangelists" but does not name where published; photocopy of extract from Sothebys catalogue of sale (c. 17 May 1963) which contains image and description of present object. States that it was formerly the property of F.W.H. Roberts, esquire. Annotation states '730 Betteridge'; photocopy of extract from publication by John Beckwith entitled 'Ivory Carvings in Early Medieval England' (Harvey, Middler & Medcalf, 1972). Contains image and description of present object.
