Description: File of material relating to the Beverley Crozier. Includes photocopy of information card with photocopy of image of object (date unspecified). Annotation on information card states this object was purchased circa 1945 at an auction in London. Names 'The Golden Age of Anglo-Saxon Art 966-1066' (London, 1984) edited by J. Blackhouse, D.H. Turner and L. Webster, as publication to be consulted. Annotations on the information card also quote from publication named below; photocopies of extracts from publication by John Beckwith entitled 'Ivory Carvings in Early Medieval England' (Harvey, Middler & Medcalf, 1972). Contains image and description of present object and discusses provenance. Beckwith names the object the Saint John of Beverley Crozier; photocopy of extract from unidentified publication (date unspecified) containing image and description of the crozier.
