General information
The Hunt Museum offers several reprographic services:
- Photocopies
- Digital copies on paper and disk
- Photographic prints
Restrictions
Archives must be in good physical condition for photocopying to proceed. For preservation reasons, the following formats will not be photocopied: photographs and documents which exceed A3 in size. Where it is not possible to photocopy documents, they can usually be photographed or digital copies can be provided. Self-service copying is not permitted in the Museum.
Requesting copies
At The Hunt Museum

If visiting the Museum, indicate the pages to be copied by folding one of the paper marking strips provided around them. Please do not remove documents from their folders.

Please complete a Copy Request Form. Documents of which copies are required must be identified by their document codes, available on the database which lists our holdings. Copy Request Forms may be submitted to the reading room supervisor.
- All Copy Request Forms must be signed by the researcher and they include a declaration that copies will be used for research and private study only.
- Any researcher who wishes to reproduce or publish documents acquired from the Museum must submit and have approved a Permission to Publish or Use Reproductions of Documents Form. Also, see section Publishing or reproducing archival documents below.
- All Copy Request Forms must be accompanied by payment.
- Some copy requests (smaller numbers of documents, or photocopies only) may be ready for collection on the day of ordering but in the case of copies being posted on, the researcher is liable to pay postage and packaging costs.
Ordering copies remotely
- If you are unable to visit the Museum but wish to order copies of documents, please complete a Copy Request Form and indicate documents to be copied with reference to their document codes, available on the database which lists our holdings.
- All copy request forms must be signed by the researcher and they include a declaration that copies will be used for research and private study only.
- Please submit the Copy Request Form to the Director.

Publishing or reproducing archival documents
Materials in The Hunt Museum Archives are protected by relevant Irish copyright legislation, the Copyright and Related Rights Act, 2000.
By providing photocopies, photographic copies, digital images, electronic copies or copies in any other form, the Hunt Museum does not convey the right to reproduce or publish any document. Permission to reproduce or publish must be obtained by submitting to the Director, for approval, a Permission to Publish or Use Reproductions of Documents Form.
The Hunt Museum does not own copyright in all documents in its archival collections. In all cases, acquiring permission to reproduce or publish documents from the copyright holder rests with the researcher.
